DYKSTERHUIS, Evert “Ed”

Formerly of Palmerston, passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord at Derbecker’s Heritage House, St. Jacobs on Tuesday, February 25th in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Johanna ‘Annie’ Dyksterhuis (2022) for 66 years. Loving father of Rita and Jamie Stevens of Waterloo, Doug and Kim Dyksterhuis of Drayton, Joanne and Dale Martin of Elmira and John Dyksterhuis and Renee McIsaac of Conestogo. Cherished grandfather and great-grandfather of Amanda and Jonas, Kaia and Malia; Melisa and Josh, Sadie and Mikaela; Bryan and Melissa, Summer, Harry and Finnley; Matt and Sarah, Reggie; Brittany and Scott, Sophie, Emily and Chloe; Laci and Matt, Savi; Abby. Brother of Henry Dyksterhuis, Peter and Irene Dyksterhuis, and Christine and Peter Oosterveld. Brother-in-law of Hendrina (Rinnie) Lowe, Hennie Tinholt, and Debi and Larry Forhan. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents Douwke and Trijntje (Vos) Dyksterhuis, father-in-law and mother-in-law Johan and Hendrina (Reuvekamp) Logtenberg, brother Jakob Dyksterhuis, brothers-in-law Henk Logtenberg, Douglas Lowe, John Logtenberg, Ralph Logtenberg and Walter Tinholt and sisters-in-law Eileen Dyksterhuis and Els Dyksterhuis. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Derbecker’s Heritage House for their support and care they provided. A private family service was held at Heritage Funeral Home on Monday, March 3rd with Pastor Nick Pavel of Knox Presbyterian Church officiating, followed by Spring interment in Harriston Cemetery. In Ed’s memory and as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Knox Presbyterian Church, Palmerston or Palmerston Hospital Foundation, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
