DYKSTERHUIS, Christine (Kloosterboer)

Passed away peacefully at Royal Terrace, Palmerston, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in her 93rd year. Mother of Jean (Mike) Kalbun, Mary-Jo Crawford, Linda (Brian) Shoemaker, and Betty Dyksterhuis. Grandmother of Laura (Matt) Mosher, David (TJ) Kalbun, Jon Crawford, Josh Crawford, Katie Crawford, Erin Shoemaker (Jay), and Kailey Fotheringham (Travis), and great-grandmother of Rowan, Daegan, Kynzlee, Pyper, Daxton, Benjamin, and Adeline. Sister to Hank Kloosterboer. Predeceased by her parents Gerrit & Johanna (Schieven) Kloosterboer, and by her sisters Bertha Koeslag and Rickie Brouwer. Christine had a passion for horticulture, her beloved cats, and loved spending time in her exquisite flower gardens. She dedicated herself to charitable efforts, knitting pneumonia vests for children around the world and designing beautiful quilts for the Sharing our Faith group at Clifford United Church. Christine is fondly remembered for her unwavering support and dedication as the Vice Principal secretary at Norwell District Secondary School in Palmerston, where she served from 1971 to 1994. Her kindness and hard work touched the lives of many. Please join Christine’s family as they celebrate her life at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston, on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 2:00 until 4:00pm. Private family interment will be held in Clifford Cemetery. Memorial donations to Palmerston Hospital MRI or the Royal Terrace Residents’ Council would be appreciated.
