Terrence Donald ‘Terry’ Demerling of Clifford passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, in his 69th year. Husband of Bonnie (Casemore) Demerling. Father of Christine Demerling (Takis) of Salmon Arm, B.C., and William & Sherece Demerling of Clifford. Grandfather of Cassie Anger, Jordan Anger, and Kissy James, and great-grandfather of Declan and Amelia. Brother of Richard & Karin Demerling of Petersburg, and Gayle & Alf Goll of Formosa. Remembered also by his nephews and niece Cory & Jen Casemore, Cindy & Matt Breigg, Jim Demerling & Ayren Regan, Derek & Dana Demerling, and Matt Demerling, and several great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Glenn and Jackie (Kyte) Demerling. Terry grew up in Clifford, learned to love fixing cars by helping his father, uncles, and grandfather. This set him on the path to go to trade school to learn the trade and to eventually with the help of his wife take over the family business of which he was 3rd generation. Today his son also works in the business as the 4th generation. Terry met Bonnie in 1975; they fell in love and they were quick to wed on Dec 19, 1975. This year would have marked their 50th anniversary. Terry will be fondly remembered for his sense of community through his small acts of generosity /kindness throughout the years making sure people had working vehicles, credit given to those who had fallen on hard times. He was also a member of the Clifford Fire Department and served for 15 years. Terry will be fondly remembered by his close family and friends, for his quick wit, and sense of humour which would always get people laughing and set them at ease. Friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home on Thursday, December 11th from 6:00 to 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held at the Clifford Community Hall on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 11:00am with reception to follow. Interment in Clifford Cemetery. Memorial donations to Clifford Foodbank or Harriston Legion would be appreciated.
