COPP, Linda Risacher

Died at Groves Memorial Hospital on 26 September 2025 after a long struggle with  Alzheimer’s. She was in her 86th year. Linda will be greatly missed and well remembered by family and friends especially her husband of 58 years Terry Copp, her daughter Monica Dechene, her son Robin Copp and his partner Stephanie Shatilla, her daughter in law Eliza Griffith, wife of Linda’s much loved son Reuel Dechene, who predeceased her,  brother Paul Risacher and grandchildren Michael and Miranda Kelly. Linda was a well known regional artist who worked in a variety of mediums before developing a method of painting landscapes with batik dyes. A founding member of the Elora Studio Tour, her exhibitions at the Wellington County Museum,  A Year on the Grand 1988-99, Rivers of the Grand 2005 and Ninety Proof The Art of Linda Copp, Joël  Masewich and Barry McCarthy, 2015 displayed her fascination with Elora and the Grand River. Linda received loving care at home with the assistance of PSWs from Closing the Gap and outstanding care and comfort in her final weeks from doctors, nurses and PSWs at Groves. Donations  to Groves Hospital Foundation in her memory would be appreciated.
