BUHROW, Gerald

With deep sadness, we share that Gerald Eugene Buhrow of Clifford passed away at Palmerston Hospital on Monday, November 17, 2025, in his 85th year. Gerald is dearly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Joan Buhrow (Percival). He lovingly raised and is fondly remembered by his children: Rick and Darlene Hill of Minto Township, Steve and Jenn Hill of Wingham, Debbie and Dan McMullen of Minto Township, and Dan and Tracy Hill of Harriston. He was affectionately loved by his grandchildren, Natasha Hill, Nicholas Hill, Danielle & Kyle Clemmer, Faren Hill, Katherine & Matt Morrocco, Hayley Hill, Brett & Ashley McMullen, Brianne & Ryan Binkle, Denver & Aly Hill, and Larissa & Brayden Morris; and by his 14 great-grandchildren Maryam, Yusef, Ella, Maggie, Hannah, Phoebe, Junia, Ezra, Violet, Kylian, Lane, Oliver, Leighton, and Zeke. Also remembered by his sister Shirley Murray of Clifford and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Melvin and Minnie (Fatum) Buhrow, grandson Cole McMullen, daughter-in-law Christine Hill, sister Mildred Becker and husband Earl, brothers Harvey Buhrow, and Ken Buhrow and wife Jean, and brothers-in-law Ron Hopf and Jack Murray. In his younger years, Gerald could be found strumming his guitar, playing the piano or organ. He was asked to sing at many weddings and played music with friends at many local events in the surrounding area. He worked at his Dad’s family business Clifford WoodCraft (Furniture Refinishing and Upholstery) and created many cherished treasures as a master woodworker, with his scroll saw work, chip carving and whittling. His hobby of auctioneering became a real-life passion for him and was something he was recognized for throughout the region. After experiencing some health issues, he took the required courses to become a real-estate agent. Gerald was a volunteer firefighter, a long-term member of the Clifford Rotary Club (Paul Harris Fellow) and the perennial Santa Claus at the Redwood Restaurant and other Clifford events. He loved to talk and share stories with his friends at the Clifford Coffee Club and if you couldn’t find him, he was likely volunteering to drive someone to a medical appointment. He will definitely be missed in the community. The family would like to thank staff at the Palmerston & District Hospital for their compassionate care. Visitation was held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Clifford, on Thursday, November 20th at 11:00am. Interment in Clifford Cemetery. Memorial donations to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Clifford, Lutheran Hour, or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Online condolences may be left at www.hardyleefuneralhome.com
