Obituary

With deep sadness and love we share the passing of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Paula Bendo passed away at the Hamilton General Hospital on Oct 21, 2025 at the age of 74. Born in Guelph on March 29, 1951, Paula will be remembered for her kindness and care for others, her strength, and her graciousness. Paula was the one who saw the value in getting together as a family. She would be the one planning family get togethers, whether it be the Bendo family BBQ, Easter dinners, or the annual Christmas tree hunt. Paula’s greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. She spent endless time with them, taking them to dance classes, sporting events, organizing Easter egg hunts, and sharing experiences that the grandchildren will cherish into their adulthood. When she wasn’t with her grandchildren, you could find Paula tending to her hives of bees and spectacular  gardens. She is survived by her husband Larry, children Teresa, Michael and Stephen, and grandchildren Cameron, Emerson, Brooke and June. Our thanks to the staff at Hamilton General ICU for your special care. Friends will be received on Sunday, November 2 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N, Guelph. A Celebration of Life with refreshments will take place on Monday, November 3 from 12:00 noon to 2:00pm at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral, 252 Dublin St., in the Fellowship Lounge.
