Passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025 at Strathcona Long Term Care in Mount Forest, ON at the age of 83. She was born on October 13, 1942 in Petawawa, ON to parents Jack and Anne Toms. Judi was a loving mother to late Janet (Jamie) Yule and late Jeff Ballah, Kristin (Andrew) Wood of Fergus, ON, Kieran (Andrea) Ballah of Houston, TX. She was an adored grandmother to Rob (Trisha), John (Sarah), Lloyd (Amanda), Alex (Kelsey), Alissa (Alan), Matthew and Darian and a great-grandmother to seven and with two more on the way. She is survived by her brother Jim Toms. She will be missed dearly by her best friend and chosen sister Carol Deforest Judi was predeceased by her two children Janet and Jeff, her sisters Jackie (late John) Atkinson and Candi Toms and sister-in-law Helen. Judi will be remembered as a fierce friend and a loyal supporter of her family. With deep roots in Guelph and Fergus, she carried a strong sense of community and family wherever she went. Judi had a heart for those closest to her, always wanting the very best for them. Her love for her children was unwavering. Guided by strong values, she lived with integrity and purpose, holding fast to the principles that defined her life. Judi’s presence will be immensely missed, but her legacy of love, loyalty, and steadfastness will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Judi’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at Highland Manor and Strathcona LTC. A celebration of Judi’s life will be held from 2:00pm – 4:00pm with tributes being shared at 3:30pm on Sunday, December 14, 2025. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to CAMH: The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health would be appreciated by Judi’s family.
