ARMITAGE, Sharon Eileen

August 17, 1945 - December 17, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Sharon Eileen Armitage on December 17, 2025, at the age of 80. Sharon passed peacefully at her home at the Wellington Terrace, surrounded by her daughters, Cynthia and Camille. Born and raised in Weston, Ontario, Sharon and her beloved husband, Bob, made their home in Fergus, Ontario, in the early 2000s. Over the years, Sharon became a treasured part of the Centre Wellington community. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Bob Armitage, on March 28, 2009. Sharon is lovingly remembered by her children: Rob (Debbie), Cynthia (Terry), and Camille (Kevin). She was the proud grandmother of Ryanne (Kenny), Tyler, Travis, Hannah, Rose (Kurtis), and Owen (Maddie), and the cherished great-grandmother of Jameson, Hannah’s son. Sharon is also survived by her sister, Myrna (Gil). Sharon’s legacy is one of unyielding love, kindness, and strength. Throughout her life, she was a bright light in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. A devoted member of the Ladies Auxiliary Club, Sharon spent countless hours serving her community. She spent many joyful days at the Fergus Seniors Centre alongside her late husband Bob and was a familiar and welcoming presence at the Fergus Legion, where she formed deep and lasting friendships. Sharon was a loving mother and held the title of grandmother (Nanny) to its highest standard, supporting her grandchildren through every stage of life. For all who knew her, Sharon was simply unforgettable. She had an open heart and a remarkable ability to connect with anyone, whether a lifelong friend or a stranger she met in passing. Sharon could often be seen walking through downtown Fergus, enjoying a coffee at Tim Horton’s with her friends, or striking up a conversation with anyone who crossed her path. Her warmth and genuine kindness knew no bounds, and she made everyone feel like they belonged. Despite facing numerous health challenges between 2022 and 2025, Sharon demonstrated extraordinary resilience, facing each obstacle with grace and courage. Her strength and determination will remain an inspiration to all who witnessed it. In 2023, Sharon moved to the Wellington Terrace, where, true to form, she quickly made new friends and became a beloved member of the Oak Glen wing. Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff at the Wellington Terrace for their compassionate care and support during her time there. Their kindness, attention, and unwavering support were a great comfort to Sharon and her family. We are especially grateful to those who took the time to truly get to know Sharon and brighten her days, offering not only care but friendship in her final years. Sharon’s family and friends will carry her memory forever in their hearts. Her ability to love and her unbreakable spirit will continue to touch all of us. She was truly one of a kind, and her legacy of kindness, friendship, and resilience will never be forgotten. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at a later date. Further details will be shared with family and friends in the coming weeks. Memorial donations may be made to the Wellington Terrace.
