Norwell rallys for Varsity Reds

Norwell District Secondary School was pumping with school spirit on Nov. 29.

Students dressed in red, black and white to show their school spirit. The afternoon included the annual pep rally and hockey game buy out.

Every year, the school invites students from its partner schools to Norwell to join in on the fun and get to know the school and staff. Grade 8 students from Drayton Heights Public School, Palmerston PS and Minto-Clifford PS, as well as Grade 6 students from Maryborough PS, were bused to Norwell for the event.

The rally was filled with cheers, dancing, and laughter to get the students pumped up for the hockey game. After the pep rally, students went to the Palmerston Community Centre to cheer as the Norwell Varsity Reds hockey team took on a team from Cambridge, at the school’s 24th invitational hockey tournament, winning 3-1.

The Norwell team went on to play for bronze, winning 5-0 over St. Annes.
