The Norwell District Secondary School girls curling team recently captured the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) championship.

In fact the CWOSSA champs - including lead Sara Driedger, second Nicole Ross, third Jacinda Schieck, skip Paige Droog and coach  Tyson Smith - went undefeated at the tournament in Ottawa March 20 to 23.

The team, playing without Lindsay Brown, who could not make it to the OFSAA finals, won all five of its round robin games over teams from  Fonthill (6-5), Glengarry (12-5), Sudbury (6-5), Windsor (12-2) and Ottawa (8-6).

Norwell then defeated Chatham Kent High School 6-5 in the quarter finals and Perth District Collegiate Institute 5-3 in the semi-finals.

The girls then defeated Loretto Abbey of Toronto in a close game to clinch the championship.
