North Wellington residents can now access services closer to home
MOUNT FOREST – Wellington County officially opened its Wellington North social services office on Sept. 28.
The new office is located in the county’s Community Services Centre (CSC) at 311 Foster St. It includes a social services help centre, and staff from the children’s early years division, housing services and Ontario Works.
Staff will help residents access information and resources, complete applications and connect to county programs and other community supports.
“Having dedicated social services staff working right here in Wellington North means residents can connect with the supports they need closer to their homes,” stated county Warden Chris White in a news release.
The CSC also houses the Mount Forest Child Care and Learning Centre and the EarlyON Child and Family Centre. The child care centre has expanded to create 31 additional licensed spaces.
“This is about making county services more accessible to the people who rely on them,” social services administrator Luisa Artuso stated in the release.
The office is open weekdays from 8:30am to 4pm.
