Wellington North is going to talk to its neighbours to look further into non-resident ice fees.
A recent recreation committee report noted there was a response from only four groups regarding such user fees, three from Mount Forest and one from Arthur.
The report stated there needs to be push put on the groups that have not replied.
The committee also decided someone should contact Minto about how many Wellington North residents participate in Minto facilities, as 20 from Minto play hockey within Wellington North.
Council also passed a resolution to charge for off-season ice rentals at the Arthur and Mount Forest arenas.
Recreation committee minutes noted requests were sent out to all users in Mount Forest and Arthur asking if they would like spring and summer ice.
Terry Whiteside, from Quick Feet Triple A Hockey, would like to use the ice for six teams out of Durham.
Recreation Director Linda Spahr was also asked to contact those wanting to run a hockey camp in August to let them know it is a go.
Council agreed on that group’s final recommendation to charge $120 per hour (plus tax) for off-season ice.
