Next local clinic is Feb. 15

Officials say there is a strong need for blood donors as a result of recent winter storms in Ontario.

In one such storm, many clinics were closed for the safety of Canadian Blood Services’ volunteers, staff and donors.

While there is no current shortage of blood, Canadian Blood Services is taking proactive measures and asking blood donors from the Fergus area to help replenish the national blood supply to avoid any potential shortages.

All blood types are needed, however there is a particular need for O, A, and B Negative donors.

The next opportunity to give blood is on Feb. 15 at the Fergus community centre between 2 and 8pm.
