A familiar face will take over the reins as Wellington County’s new treasurer.

Effective June 5, Ken DeHart replaces Craig Dyer, who resigned from the position on April 18.

DeHart was hired as a financial analyst for the county in 2003 and was promoted to manager of financial services in 2006.

DeHart attended the University of Guelph where he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Management Economics in Industry and Finance and he has received his Certified General Accountants of Ontario designation.

“I am pleased to announce that Ken DeHart has accepted the position of County Treasurer,” said Wellington County Warden Chris White.

“Ken has really proven himself during his nine year career at the county. I am confident he will succeed in his new role.”

John Green, chairman of the county’s administration, finance and personnel committee stated, “I have had the opportunity to work very closely with Ken during his nine years at the county. The county has a solid financial foundation. I know Ken will continue to keep the county in a strong financial position.”
