New name for local Lions Club
Ariss and Maryhill Lions Club is the new name for the Ariss and District Lions Club. Lions Clubs International approved the change which took effect on May 9.
When the club was chartered in 2011 the meetings were held in Ariss. This venue was sold in 2014.
Club president Neil Perry stated the club acquired a meeting place at the Heritage Park Community Centre in Maryhill.
He went on to say that although Maryhill was included as part of the “district” in the club name, the club executive and membership unanimously agreed the name Maryhill should be included in the club’s name.
