New hydro poles on Gartshore Street made of composite material, more sustainable
New poles - Centre Wellington Hydro has been installing new hydro poles on Gartshore Street in Fergus and these ones are different. They are made with a composite material, says president Wayne Dyce, which is more sustainable than wood as well as being lighter, stronger, and easier to work with. “We still use wood predominantly but we do have to look at other materials and equipment,” he said. This run on Gartshore is important as it connects with Hydro One circuits. Submitted photo
