New bus service

A new bus service has come to Wellington County.

Kasper Bus Lines is now running a 14-person bus from Owen Sound to Guelph, with the hopes of building a reliable, affordable and comfortable option to rural residents.

All I can say is, it’s about time. Now if you want to go up north there is a bus that will take you right there.

The current Wellington County stops include: Tim Hortons in Mount Forest, Petro-Canada in Arthur and the A&W in Fergus. In Guelph the bus will end its run at the Central Go station.

The bus will run Monday to Saturday, leaving from Owen Sound at 8am and arriving in Guelph at 10:25am. It will then return to Owen Sound with an arrival time of 1:11pm. The bus will once again leave Owen Sound at 2:30pm and arrive in Guelph around 4:55pm. It will then head north and finish the day in Owen Sound at 7:41pm.

Owner Kasper Wabinski has a service like this in Thunder Bay but, being from Guelph, he said it was easier to set up a second base here because he has family in the area and other connections.

Business owners, it may be a good idea to take 10 minutes out of your day and fill out the questionnaire to help shape the programming available.

The survey is open until Jan. 31 at bit.ly/2NBadT0.
