New board of health named
The 2008 Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Board of Health elected Lynda Davenport as chairman and Amanda Rayburn as vice-chair at its inaugural meeting on Jan. 9.
The 2008 Board of Health comprises the following members:
- Ontario appointees, Rayburn, Diane Lindsey, Doug Auld, and Keith Perron;
- Wellington County, Warden John Green, and county councillors Jean Innes and Joanne Ross-Zuj;
- Dufferin County councillors Allen Taylor and Gordon Montgomery; and
- Guelph, with citizen appointee Davenport, Mayor Karen Farbridge, and councillor Maggie Laidlaw.
For Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, Dr. Nicola Mercer is acting Medical Officer of Health and Chief Executive Officer, and Wayne Orr is secretary and treasurer.
The board meets the first Wednesday of every month in the Fergus office of WDG Public Health.
