New board of health named

The 2008 Wellington-Duf­ferin-Guelph Board of Health elected Lynda Davenport as chairman and Amanda Rayburn as vice-chair at its inaugural meeting on Jan. 9.
The 2008 Board of Health comprises the following mem­bers:
-  Ontario appointees, Ray­burn, Diane Lindsey, Doug Auld, and Keith Perron;
- Wellington County, War­den John Green, and county councillors Jean Innes and Joanne Ross-Zuj;
- Dufferin County coun­cil­lors Allen Taylor and Gordon Montgomery; and
- Guelph, with citizen appointee Davenport, Mayor Karen Farbridge, and coun­cillor Maggie Laidlaw.
For Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, Dr. Nic­ola Mercer is acting Medical Officer of Health and Chief Executive Officer, and Wayne Orr is secretary and treasurer.
The board meets the first Wednesday of every month in the Fergus office of WDG Public Health.
