Central America is one of the most biodiversity-rich places in the world, but is constantly being threatened by deforestation where trees are a vital fuel source.

NeighbourWoods is hosting a Tree Talk on Jan. 31, featuring guest speaker Craig Frayne, an environmental engineer working with development organizations in Latin America.

Learn about the connection between deforestation and poverty in Latin America and some of the work being done to promote alternate fuels and save their forests.

The event begins at 7pm at the Elora Centre for the Arts, at 75 Melville St., in the Harris Room. Admission is $5 or free for members.

For more information contact Toni Ellis at 519-846-0841 or NeighbourWoods@eloraenvironmentcentre.ca.
