Mount Forest long term care home receives $14,000 provincial funding

MOUNT FOREST – Strathcona Long Term Care will receive $14,051 in provincial funding to support residents with complex needs.

Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae announced the funding on July 24, along with funding for four Perth long-term care homes.

Funding for the five homes totals $196,000 and is coming from the “Local Priorities Fund.”

The fund is intended to help connect people with health care services and reduce hospital visits.

“Our government continues to support seniors and their families by ensuring access to necessary services close to home,” Rae stated in a press release.

“Local Priorities funding allows our long-term care providers to offer specialized services that keep our seniors safe, healthy, and right here in our rural communities,” Rae said.

“Helping long-term care residents with complex needs is one more way the province is taking action to meet the needs of Ontario’s aging population and their caregivers by improving and expanding supports for seniors living in long-term care, congregate settings and in the community,” the press release stated.
