Morguard Investments Limited seeking Environmental Compliance Approval

There was little discussion regarding recent correspondence from Morguard Investments about a new environmental compliance approval for the industrial sewage system for its building under construction near Highway 401.

This proposal deals with the establishment of a domestic sewage treatment and subsurface disposal works, serving Maple Leaf Consumer Foods Puslinch Distribution Centre located at southwest half of Lot 25, Concession 8, Part 1, Plan 61 R-11887, in the Township of Puslinch .

The 280,000 square foot building will act as the eastern Ontario distribution hub for Maple Leaf Foods.

The proposed sewage treatment and subsurface disposal works consist of two septic tanks, one dosing tank, a sewage tertiary treatment system with nitrification, de-nitrification and chemical dosing units, as well as an area bed.

Effluent limits for the tertiary treatment system will be imposed in the Environmental Compliance Approval.
