Moorefield resident dies in single-vehicle crash
Sideroad 5 West, between Highway 6 and Concession Road 9, is closed for police investigation
WELLINGTON NORTH - A 72-year-old Moorefield resident is dead after their vehicle left the road, colliding with a hydro pole.
On July 8, around 1am, emergency services responded to the crash on Sideroad 5 West, near Riverstown, between Concession 9 and Highway 6.

"It was determined that the vehicle left the roadway and collided into a hydro pole," Wellington County OPP stated in a news release.
The Moorefield resident, who was not identified in the release, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say a passenger was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted to a trauma centre with minor injuries.
Sideroad 5 West, between Highway 6 and Concession Road 9, is expected to remain closed for several hours as police investigate.
No additional information was provided.
This is the second fatality involving a single-vehicle collision in recent days.
On July 4, a 53-year-old Mount Forest resident died after their vehicle left the road and crashed into a ditch on Highway 6, south of Mount Forest and north of Riverstown.
