Mississauga man drowns at area campground

A Mississauga man drowned at a local campground here last weekend.

On Sept. 1 at about 5pm, emergency crews responded to a possible drowning at Emerald Lake Campground in Puslinch.

Police say a man was swimming and went under the water but failed to resurface. The man was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead.

He was identified as Noel Michael Badillo, 46, of Mississauga.

Police say alcohol “is not believed to have played a factor” in his death.
