Keep those taps running.
Minto public works director Brian Hansen says all residents in the municipality’s urban areas should continue to keep a tap running in an effort to prevent water service freeze-up until further notice.
Hansen told Minto council at the March 17 meeting that the problem isn’t restricted to certain areas.
“We’ve had problems in areas where we’ve never had problems before,” he said.
Residents are being encouraged not to let warmer weather lull them into thinking it’s safe to turn off taps, as initially, frost is being driven further into the ground, Hansen explained.
