Minto insurance rates drop 2.6% for 2008
Lower insurance rates for 2008 is a bit of good News for council here.
As Frank Cowan Company Limited regional manager Steve Smith, and Larry Grummet Insurance Broker Ltd. representative Randy Ruetz, reviewed the 2008 municipal insurance program for the town of Minto, Mayor David Anderson commented “I see you are bringing good tidings.”
Smith said the big difference between last year’s report and this year is the rates are down 2.6% - a savings of roughly $4,500. And, he said, even with the discount, the company was able to provide enhanced coverage to the municipality to provide the equivalent of $2-million in additional coverage.
Council quickly endorsed the renewal of its coverage from March 2008 to March 2009 for $167.989 plus tax.
