Minto Arts Council opening local gallery

HARRISTON – The Minto Arts Council is opening the gallery it operates on the upper floor of the Harriston library in September and has three exhibits lined up for the fall.

COVID protocols will remain in place, including wearing of masks, sanitizing, social distancing and limits on the number of visitors in the gallery. Visitors will be screened at the entrance to the library by library staff, the council explains in a statement.

Upcoming exhibits include:

  • Saugeen Artists, Sept. 9 to Oct. 2;
  • Kitchener-Waterloo Society of Artists, Oct. 7 to Oct. 30; and
  • Christmas silent auction.

Gallery hours are:

  • Tuesday and Thursday, 6 to 8pm;
  • Wednesday and Friday, 2 to 4pm; and
  • Saturday, 11am to 1pm.

Gallery officials thanked patrons and volunteers for past support of the gallery and are inviting local residents to resume volunteering.

“Please let us know your intentions and if you would volunteer to gallery-sit, choose a date and time,” officials state.
