Meetings to cut costs come with a price in Erin

Apparently there is a price to cutting costs.

A recent report by Erin director of finance Sharon Marshall stated that as council reviews its 2013 budget, it should also be aware of the costs involved for holding the additional meetings - in terms of  staff overtime and additional council remuneration.

Marshall’s report estimated the cost impact for each extra meeting held outside of regular business hours as follows:

- council $322; and

- staff $1,205.

The total projected cost is over $1,500 per meeting, Marshall reported.
