Man’s throat cut during large street fight

One man was sent to hospital after his throat was cut with a knife during a large street fight here on Saturday night.

On June 12 at about 12am, Wellington County OPP received a report about "a large group of people fighting" on Princess Ann Street in Mount Forest.

Police say a 21-year-old man "attempted to get in between the fighting to stop it and received a cut with a knife to the throat area."

He received treatment at a local hospital.

Police arrested a 16-year-old from Mount Forest a short time later without incident.

He is charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats.  He was held in custody and attended bail court.

The weapon used has not been located.
