Man stabbed during robbery

On March 3 at about 6:40am, Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a robbery at a business on Mason Road, just south of Highway 401 here.

“OPP attended and found the victim suffering from a stab wound and learned that the victim happened upon unknown suspects attempting to steal a tractor trailer,” police stated in a press release. “The victim confronted one of the suspects and an altercation ensued. The victim was cut by the suspect, who then fled in a vehicle with the other suspects.”

Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

Harjinder Sandhu, 44, Maheep Singh,  30, Balwinder Dhensa, 60, and Mandeep Gill, 36, all of Brampton, were charged with robbery with violence, assault causing bodily harm and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

Gill was also charged with possession of break-in instruments and three counts of failing to comply with recognizance.

All four men are to appear in Guelph court on June 1.
