Man killed in crash involving tractor trailer, van
A Harriston man was killed and Trafalgar Road was closed for hours following a fatal vehicle collision here last Friday.
Police say Richard Snider, 63, of Harriston, died when the motor vehicle he was operating collided with a tractor trailer on Trafalgar Road between Sideroad 9 and Sideroad 10, south of Brisbane in Erin.
On Jan. 23 at about 1:19pm, Wellington County OPP received a call regarding a serious collision involving a Peterbilt tractor trailer and a GMC cargo van on Trafalgar Road. OPP officers, along with Guelph-Wellington Emergency Services, Town of Erin Fire and Emergency Services and the Wellington County roads department, responded to the scene.
Police say Snider, who was driving the van, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured. The cause of the collision was under investigation by Wellington County OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI).
Trafalgar Road between Wellington Road 124 and Side Road 9 was closed for hours.
