Mississauga man drowns while swimming at Elora Quarry

ELORA – A 24-year-old man from Mississauga drowned at the Elora Quarry on Tuesday. 

Emergency crews responded to a call at about 6:30pm for a swimmer in distress at the quarry, located on Wellington Road 18.

[They] located one individual who was removed from the water and transported to a local hospital,” Wellington County OPP officials stated in a press release. 

“Despite life-saving efforts, the 24-year-old male was later pronounced deceased.” 

The police investigation is ongoing.
