GUELPH – A Guelph man may not have thought things through when he called police last week to report receiving poor-quality street drugs.

Guelph Police officials say that just after 1pm on Feb. 24 the man called them to report he believed his dealer had put glass in his methamphetamine.

“When police met the male in a parking lot near Paisley Road and Imperial Road South, he removed a pen from his pocket and opened it to reveal a wrapper containing a small amount of substance believed to be methamphetamine,” police stated.

The 39-year-old, who was arrested for possessing a controlled substance, said he called police because he was concerned the dealer might be selling contaminated drugs.

“Officers used their discretion to release the male without charge and provided him with information regarding addictions counselling and available treatment options,” police stated.

The suspected meth was seized.
