Local teen earns lacrosse scholarship

FERGUS - Centre Wellington resident Molly Beckham, a student at Centre Wellington District High School, has accepted a scholarship to play Division II lacrosse at Lindenwood University  in St. Charles, Missouri.
 Beckham, who graduates this year, will play midfield attack, her position on the Edge Lacrosse Elite U-19 team, based out of Oakville.
 Beckham was named co-captain and most valuable graduating player of her club team in 2012, helping to earn a spot at the Ontario Summer Games. In 2011, the team won a provincial gold medal, as did her box lacrosse team in 2010.
 In two seasons with the Edge, Beckham has played in the Mid-Atlantic Tournament and the President’s Cup twice.
 She plans to study exercise science at Lindenwood.
