Local foster parents honoured

The Ariss Golf and Country Club was the location of the annual Families to Permanence  appreciation event hosted by Family and Childrens Services of Guelph and Wellington County (FCS) on Nov. 1.

The event honoured families who have provided care and permanency for children in need.  

Welcoming addresses were given by Daniel Moore, executive director of FCS, Shelia Markle, director, and event hosts Jan Lord, board chair of the organization, Samantha Jackson, program supervisor with the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, and Joy Cole, Foster Family Association president.

The evening included acknowledging the dedication of 20 new adoptive and foster parents and 24 families who have adopted children in the past year, along with recognizing  the commitment of long-term care providers.
