Lions plan diabetes road toll in Belwood on May 17
There may be a bit more stop-and-go traffic in Belwood on May 17 - but for a good cause.
On April 27, Centre Wellington councillors agreed to the road toll/tollbooth on the Victoria Day Weekend by members of the Belwood and District Lions Club to raise funds for the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Council’s approval is needed each year under the Safe Streets Act.
Belwood and District Lions Club has for many years raised funds for many projects beneficial to the local community by means of a toll booth immediately north of the County Road 26 bridge
The road toll will be May 17 between 8am and 4:30pm.
