The Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network (WWLHIN) has supported the planned transfer of nine long-term-care bed licenses from Caressant Care Harriston and seven from Caressant Care Fergus to Caressant Care Cambridge Country Manor.
The WWLHIN board of directors approved a staff recommendation to support the move at its March 26 meeting.
“This move will improve access to long-term care beds where they are needed most,” states a press release from the network.
Public meetings on the proposal, currently before the to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, were held last November.
