‘So much damage’

Dear Editor:

RE: “Fitting drink,” Dec. 4.

Do the majority of Canadians really believe that ever-increasing taxes, a growing national debt that requires billions annually to service, a growing drug addiction crisis, a growing homelessness crisis (even among people working two and three jobs), is the way to run a country? According to David Fast, they must. That’s why they continue to vote Liberal.

A failing economy, lost jobs, government handouts to industries that apparently can’t operate without billions of dollars from over-taxed working Canadians, and climate change policies and fees to “save the planet” (even though we contribute just 1.4% of the world’s emission) – in a Liberal voter’s mind must be considered a victory. Conservative voters, however, see all of this as a failure of government. Elections are not a game. Elections are important to the peace, prosperity, standard of living, mental health and happiness of not just today’s citizens, but for future generations.

So, Liberal voters, I can say without hesitation that your “winning party” has caused so much damage in the last 10 years that you have not earned the right to be so smug and self-satisfied.
