Lemonade stand raises money for local charities

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Ponsonby Public school students Marion de Jonge, middle, and Zoey de Jonge, right, ran a lemonade stand with their cousin Clara de Jonge, left, at their father’s workplace, Restoration Design, Inc., during the business’ Father’s Day open house. They collected donations for the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington Food and Friends Program, which provides judgment-free snacks to children who are hungry during the day at school. Everything at the stand was by donation, and most people donated more than the suggested amount, according to Marion and Zoey’s mother, Christine de Jonge. The girls finished the day raising a total of $120.
