Leader to speak at Jan. 24 Green Party event
The Wellington-Halton Hills Federal Green Party Association has announced Mike Schreiner, leader of the Green Party of Ontario, will be the guest speaker at its Jan. 24 meeting.
Schreiner is an advocate for independent businesses, local food and sustainable communities; and is well known for his leadership in co-founding the award-winning Local Food Plus (LFP) organization.
Schreiner started his career in the Guelph region as an entrepreneur and advocate in the local food movement.
He was elected leader of the Green Party of Ontario in 2009 and was recently nominated as the party’s candidate for Guelph.
The party’s meeting will take place on Jan. 24 at 7pm at the Rockwood library (85 Christie Street).
