Lawn bowling

The Elora Rocks Lawn Bowling Club with 60 members held its annual open house at its green on David Street in Elora from May 9 to 11. Folks came to learn the ins and outs of the game. Lawn bowling has been a fixture in Elora since 1906. The permanent club rooms were built in 1911 complete with lighting for evening games. Under the umbrella of the Lawn bowing club, the Aboyne Croquet Club operates by holding special events on the greens. Everyone is welcome to come out and try this activity both young and old. Quite a few young folks have joined the club in the last few years. From left: current club president Doreen Cook, Austin Cadinell, Lorna Hawkins and Helen Ray.  Photo by Bill Longshaw
