FERGUS – J.D. Hogarth had a final assembly for its annual holiday food drive on Dec. 19 and celebrated collecting 6,075 food items – well above the goal of 5,000. “Last year was our best year yet at 3,500, so we blew that out of the water,” said teacher Jim Newton. “It was amazing to witness such generosity and enthusiasm for this initiative, especially at a time when many in our community are struggling financially due to the rising cost of living, inflation, etcetera.”

Some staff and students also agreed to have their heads shaved for every 1,000 food items collected. Here, student Aiden Kentner has his head shaved by Bridget Doraty.
