Infrastructure Ontario to utilize LaunchIt meeting room

Infrastrucutre Ontario plans to rent the meeting room at LaunchIt Minto once or twice a week at $50 per use for the term of the town’s lease at 4 Elora Street N.

Economic and business manager Belinda Wick-Graham advised council of the arrangement at the April 21 meeting. She also noted Wellington North economic development staff members Dale Small and April Marshall will be attending the next LaunchIt board meeting to discuss the potential of joining forces in launching a Renew program in the two municipalities. Wellington North approved by the Ontario Trillium Foundation to participate in the program last fall. The Renew program focuses on filling empty storefronts and attracting businesses into downtown areas.

IPM activity

MINTO – The official sign for the 2016 International Plowing Match will be unveiled on May 14 at 1pm at the IPM site south of Harriston.

The IPM organizers recently announced they will be utilizing office space at Harriston Motors.

Career and volunteer fair

PALMERSTON – A career and volunteer fair is being hosted Norwell District Secondary School on May 13.

The event will be held at the Palmerston Curling Club, located at 520 Cavan Street, from 12:45 to 4:30pm and feature exhibitors from Minto, Mapleton and Wellington North.
