Impaired, dangerous driving

HARRISTON – On Nov. 24 at about 9:30am, Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a collision involving a sedan and SUV on Elora Street South here.

Police say “the sedan fled the scene of the collision at a high rate of speed,” while the driver of the SUV was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries. 

“Witnesses were able to take photographs of the sedan involved as well as its driver,” police stated in a press release, adding both were later located.

Simone Elsa Hill, 51, of Harriston, was charged with impaired driving, driving with more than 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood in her system, failing to stop after an accident, and dangerous driving. She is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
