GUELPH/ERAMOSA –   On Oct. 1, Neighbourwoods is hosting a Tree Walk from 1 to 2:30pm at the Ignatius Old Growth Forest.

Participants can meet at 53 Cross Creek Boulevard, east of Highway 6 just south of Marden Road. The event is free for members and $10 for non-members.

The Ignatius Old Growth Forest is a nature sanctuary of trails, forests, meadows, wetlands and waterways on the northern edge of Guelph.

The project restores and protects diverse ecological communities, and assists the regeneration of retired farmland, from old-field meadow to old-growth forest.

“Through ecological restoration we can restore our own connection to the natural world,” details a press release on the walk.
