Howick man charged in August crash that took life of Clifford man

HOWICK – A Howick resident has now been charged in connection with a serious crash here this summer that took the life of a Clifford man.

Brandon Cox, 24, of Clifford, died in a fatal two-vehicle crash on Harriston Road, west of Harriston, on Aug. 19.

OPP investigators from West Region and Huron County determined "the defendant's pickup truck had crossed over the centre line into the path of the deceased's vehicle," states a Dec. 1 press release from Huron County OPP.

Nathan Crawford, 33, of Howick, is charged with careless driving causing death, driving without insurance and failing to properly wear a seatbelt.

He is to appear in Goderich court on Jan. 5.
