Home destroyed by fire

WELLINGTON NORTH – On Oct. 23 at about 8:45pm, officers from the county OPP responded to a report of a fire at a residence at 9112 Highway 6, north of Arthur.

Cloes said officers arrived to find the residence engulfed in flames.

Firefighters from Arthur, Mount Forest and Minto Fire Departments responded. The building was heavily damaged by fire. There were no occupants in the residence at the time of the incident, but several pets were lost.  The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

The Ontario fire marshal’s office has been notified by the Arthur Fire Department. The investigation is continuing.
