Home collapses amid construction
Collapse – A house undergoing renovations in Elora collapsed on Jan. 11. The historic home at the corner of Colborne and Mary streets had been under construction for a few months. The midsection of the home was under a tarp for several weeks and the driveway had been closed off, but it was evident that at least a portion of the exterior walls had been removed, according to neighbours. No one was in the home at the time of the collapse and no one was injured. But the scope of the work will obviously now change.
