When they first got together to sing seven years ago, The Hilltop Singers had exactly seven members.

On Monday night, the group, numbering over three dozen, met at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church to rehearse and took time out for a cheque presentation.

Doug Sargent said their concerts on Nov. 7 and 8 raised $1,500 for the Centre Wellington Food Bank, and another $1,500 for The Door, a youth drop-in centre.

The Hilltop Singers also travelled to Harriston to perform on Nov. 15, and they raised another $1,500 for the Canadian Food Grains Bank.

Sargent said the singers will perform at a church in Belwood on Sunday, and then at Wellington Terrace next week, as well as visiting a seniors’ centre, Fairview Mennonite Retirement Home,  in Cambridge.
