Hills of Erin Residents Protection Association are meeting at 7pm on Dec. 5 at the Hillsburgh Community Centre.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the impact on the community and on the environment of the proposed CBM 153 acre (Trafalgar Rd.) gravel pit expansion.

While, local residents of Hillsburgh and Erin are feeling slightly more confident due to the recent victory to abandon the Melancthon Township mega-quarry project, just north of Orangeville.  They remain hopeful that the proposed CBM 153 acre expansion of the gravel pit, north of Hillsburgh will not be approved.

The majority of the land slated for the additional gravel extraction is currently being farmed while 13.3 acres is a wooded area.
