Public Health is recommending that the best way to stay healthy this time of year is to get the flu shot.

“The best way to stay healthy is to get a flu shot annually,” said Dr. Nicola Mercer, Medical Officer of Health and CEO of Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health. “Speak to your healthcare provider about getting the flu shot or visit a Public Health flu shot clinic.”

Public Health is offering free flu shot clinics in Wellington County, Dufferin County, and the city of Guelph. Visit www.wdgpublichealth.ca for flu shot clinic dates, locations, and times.

There is an alternative to the needle. FluMist is a fine nasal spray. It is not offered at public flu clinics but is available. There is a cost for FluMist as it is not publicly funded. For more information about the nasal vaccine call Public Health at 1-800-265-7293.
